Josh began his professional musical career at the age of 17, when he was asked to fill the drum spot for the Eddie Reed Big Band. The band was famous through the swing craze revival of the 90's for its devotion to authenticity and to the recreation of the "true" swing bands of the 1930s and 1940s. During his three year stint with the band, Josh honed in his traditional jazz drumming chops - pulling inspiration from listening to and watching old clips of Gene Krupa, Big Sid Catlett, George Wettling, Zutty Singleton, and many more.

Josh's current gig is drummer for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros debut album "Up From Below" has sold roughly 65,000 albums to date and it keeps climbing daily. During this last year, the band has toured the United States, UK, Australia, and Europe extensively with sold out shows between 500 to 1500 average occupancy.

Currently, the band is preparing to go back out on tour. The highlights of the upcoming tour will include the Noisepop Festival SF, Coachella, Bonnaroo, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Lollapalooza and plenty more.

During Josh's downtime with Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, he has been hired to come in and record the drums for Henry Wolfe's new album which is slated for a late 2010 release.
